RSVP For An Exclusive Decathlon Workout This Saturday, 5/2
April 30, 2015
Looking to improve your speed for the Decathlon's various running events?
Whether you're looking to shave seconds off your 40-yard dash or 20-yard shuttle drill, or improve your endurance for the 400-meter or 800-meter run, all Decathletes are invited to experience an incredible, complimentary track workout this Saturday, May 2, at 8:00am at the East River Park Track (at E. 7th Street).
Led by Coach Ted Towle, a veritable running legend from Brooklyn, the workout will consist of an active warm-up, followed by 6 to 8 sets of a 300-meter sprint at 400-meter race pace with a 90 second rest in between sets, before ending with an active cool-down.
Not long ago, Coach Towle scorched a 47-second 400m, 1:47 800m, and 4:01 mile. With a Master?s Degree in Exercise Science, he knows how to help make you faster and keep you healthy.
Tom McCarthy of Morgan Stanley attended last weekend's session, and believes all Decathletes can benefit from the workout: "Saturday was great," McCarthey said. "It was a great turnout and Ted put together a good workout that was challenging and well structured. I think most guys got a lot out of it and will be back for future sessions. I will."
