Jason Ferreri: Defending His Executive Title In Chicago

W680 jason ferreri nyc 2017 The D10 Athlete Profile explores what brings competitors to The D10 playing field... and what they bring away from it.

Jason Ferreri
Executive Vice-President / KAR Auction Services
The D10 Chicago
Fundraising goal: ($2.5K)
Marquee Event: Pull-Ups (Goal: 29 Reps)

What is your primary motivator for competing in The D10 events?
The cause, the camaraderie, and the competition. All three of these provide the incentive to come to compete yearly in The D10.

How much of your motivation for participating in The D10 stems from its charitable mission?
A tremendous amount. The D10's mission to raise funds for pediatric cancer research is a strong driver for commitment.

How did you first get involved in The D10?
I first competed in The D10 NYC in 2017. From there I moved on to Chicago where I competed in 2018 and now again here in 2019. Last year I took home the title of Top Executive. That's not something I plan on relenting this year. Game on.

How has The D10 been different from your collegiate or high school sports experiences in terms of training and motivation?
The charitable aspect and soliciting donations for pediatric cancer research definitely adds a motivation above and beyond sports and athletics. It's easy to get motivated for your school team. It's even easier to get motivated by helping children in need.

In what ways has your participation in The D10 affected or enhanced your performance at work?
Training for The D10 has increased my energy and focus on my work, most certainly.

Have you made new lasting friendships, or strengthened your professional network, as a result of your D10 experience?
I have definitely remained in contact with other athletes in my heats from both 2017 in New York and 2018 last year in Chicago. You become tight with your heats, competing together through the ten-event long day.

Help Jason continue his fundraising for children's cancer research with a contribution to his athlete campaign for The D10 Chicago. You can make a FLAT donation or a SLIDING donation where you "bet" on Jason's performance.
