Market: San Francisco
Athlete: Nick Coulter (Wells Capital Management)
I competed with The D10 for the first time in 2014. I was drawn equally to the athletic challenge as well as the philanthropic challenge. My grandma and aunt are both cancer survivors so I am unfortunately familiar with the devastating path that cancer leaves in its wake. Their fight motivated me to meet my fundraising goals so that others don’t have to suffer through the same journey. The D10 provided me with the perfect outlet for my competitive side in addition to my desire to make a positive impact on the fight against cancer.
The D10 is a very unique and unsurpassed athletic event. It challenges you to set new PRs in a very broad scope of events. What I found most memorable about the event was the overall excellence of the D10 community. Everyone is extremely positive and welcoming. This is a group of individuals who are always motivating throughout the event. During competition in 2014 I was able to get an extra rep, jump that much higher, and throw further because of their encouragement. Everyone is passionate and excited to contribute to an extremely important cause.
I am confident that the collective effort of The D10 community can raise the funds for the research that eradicates cancer.
