When I was asked to help bring The D10 to the West Coast for the first time it meant the world to me. I've spent so much of my life training and competing in a number of different sports-- but nothing I have done can compare to The D10 Decathlon in terms of the positive impact that it has had on the world. This opportunity to compete alongside my friends and family has challenged me both mentally and physically in the preparation that is required for the big day; however, this pails in comparison to what it has taught me. Throughout this process I have truly discovered that every individual has the ability to go out into the world and make it a better place.

The impact that The D10 has goes far beyond the closing seconds of that final 800 meter run. This event has demonstrated something unique-- the ability to take the drive, intensity, and hunger of hundreds of athletes around the world and turn it into something special that will positively impact our society for years to come.

As The D10 stretches its reached around the globe, it is amazing to imagine what this event can become. It is up to every individual who is competing to continue to direct their passion towards furthering this incredible cause and helping to create the lasting impact we know can be achieved.
