D10 NYC 2018 Yearbook
July 15, 2018
At the tenth annual D10 in June 2018, athletes from firms including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Goldman Sachs, UBS, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merrill Lynch combined to raise $1.5 million for pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
In the closest team result in D10 history, J's Bulls fended off a huge challenge from newcomers The Training Lab and repeated as D10 NYC Champions.
The Bulls raised almost $57,000 for Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2018, and in so doing, they had maxed out their possible fundraising points before the competition began. Combined with strong performances in the early athletic events, the Bulls' fundraising advantage gave them a healthy cushion atop the leaderboard throughout most of the five-hour day.
But The Training Lab closed with a finishing kick for the ages, logging double 1000-point maximums on the 20 Yard Shuttle, double 1000-point maximums on the Bench Press, and double 800+ point scores in the 800 Meter Run.
The Bulls had held a 1600-point lead through seven events. When the 800 was over, 96% of that lead had vanished, but the Bulls remained 65 points clear -- enough to crown them champions for the second year in a row.
How close was it? In D10 scoring table terms, the runners-up missed this year's team title by one Pull-Up.
It was an incredible competition. Of course, what makes The D10 so special is not only the competition, but the community and the cause we support. We issue our heartfelt thanks to every athlete who raised money and competed in the Team event this year. Because of the efforts of D10 NYC athletes, The D10 has now raised more than $11.4 million for pediatric cancer research nationwide. And we're just getting started....

In their third year competing, brothers Joe and Steve Cirincione of Team Undrafted have mobilized a ton of support. That was evident in this profusion of worthy contenders for Best Fan Sign, to say nothing of Undrafted's fundraising total of $31,000. What's their secret? Steve walked us through the elements of his fundraising success for The D10's Fundraising Masterclass series.
